Big News! “Central All Alumni Scholarship”

Due to the success of our class’s 50th reunion and to the generosity of many of our classmates, your reunion committee was able to establish a college scholarship for a graduating Central senior. The scholarship name is the Central All Alumni Scholarship.  It is thusly named so that any alumni or class can donate to it. As the money in the scholarship fund grows, so grows the amount of the annual award. Our first award was made this past May, 2013, to Miss Nekia Elam. See the accompanying photo and her resume below.

Resume For Nekia Elam

Nekia was chosen for this honor by a faculty committee. She was the president of the Honor
Society, an exceptional student and leader, and a track star. Her chosen university is The University of Tennessee, where she has several other scholarships as well as ours. Her field of interest is pre-med.  Mr. Gregory McCullough, Central’s principal, proudly said that his staff had given us the best of the best.  Nekia was presented a framed Raymond Waddey lithograph donated by our classmate Bruce Shroyer and the class reunion committee.
